The answer is simple, no maintenance at all! Once installed properly the CWP-i5S will provide maintenance free operation for up to 1 million gallons of water flow.

- 10 years on the media-Any whole home system that backwashes.

The CWP5S is extremely efficient during the backwash cycle and only uses 3.5 gpm during the process. This process consists of an 8 minute backwash cycle and a 4 minute rinse cycle. You can program this cycle ever 7-28 days. The water used during the backwash cycle is also cleaner then the incoming water to your system, so this discharged water can be drained into planters, grass, etc

The water is altered through a multi-stage magnetic process. There is nothing to add.

NO. Remember that the calcium is still present, but in an altered suspended state. A test for hardness in reality is a test for the presence of the minerals calcium and magnesium, which have naturally hard properties. The OXY MAG Inline Water Conditioner renders them harmless.
